Jarrod Miller arraignment postponed to Friday

Suspect in Healdsburg murder case asks Sonoma County judge for extra day to decide on plea.

Jarrod Miller of Cloverdale continues to be held without bail Thursday after his scheduled arraignment today was postponed until tomorrow.

Miller, 29, who is charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Healdsburg businessman Tim Neuer last week, told Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Ken Gnoss he needed an extra day to confer with his attorney about entering a plea.

Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch said she will prosecute the case.

Police said Miller returned the night of Tuesday, March 8, to the home north of Healdsburg he formerly shared with Neuer and his sister, Amanda "Mandy" Miller, Neuer's girlfriend. After a discussion, Neuer asked Jarrod Miller to leave. Instead, Miller shot Neuer with a small-caliber handgun, police said.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting.
