Man Arrested, Accused of Using Fake $100 Bills in Guerneville

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office arrested a Sebastopol man on Wednesday on suspicion of passing counterfeit $100 bills in Guerneville.

Shawn Tel Parker, 43, is suspected of passing the counterfeit bills at Lark Drug Pharmacy on June 26 and at other Guerneville businesses, sheriff's Sgt. Michael Raasch said.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the pharmacy, and a deputy recognized Parker as the suspect, Raasch said.

Parker, who was on probation for a drug possession conviction, was not home when detectives went to his Sebastopol residence where they seized a large amount of ammunition in violation of his probation, Raasch said.

Detectives spotted him at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at a gas station at Marlow and Guerneville roads in Santa Rosa and arrested him without incident, Raasch said.

Parker was in possession of two counterfeit $100 bills, 1.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine and an illegal weighted leather weapon, Raasch said.

He was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of commercial burglary, passing and possession of counterfeit bills and on the drug and weapon charges.
