Man Demands Sex, Threatens Campers with Knife

Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Santa Rosa man who is suspected of threatening several campers with a knife at Fairie Ring Campground in Guerneville.

A Santa Rosa man went to jail today, accused of some serious crimes.

Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested Dale Everette Bohan, 39, on suspicion of evading arrest, possession of stolen property, terrorist threats, vehicle theft, resisting arrest and a no-bail parole hold.

The incident started at 8:10 p.m., Monday, at Fairie Ring Campground in Guerneville. Police say that Bohan approached two women and was acting extremely crazy, possibly under the influence of methamphetamine.

The women told police that Bohan demanded sex from them and became very aggressive towards them when they denied his request, a sheriff's press release stated.

"When two other residents of the Faerie Ring Campground tried to intervene and help the females the suspect exhibited a knife and threatened several people in the immediate vicinity," the release said.

Deputies went to the campgrounds and found the suspect in a red Toyota, T-100, pickup in the area of Highway 116 and 4th Street. Police say that Bohan saw the deputies and fled west on Highway 116 for about one-and-a-half miles before crashing off the roadway.

Bohan then allegedly fled on foot toward the river and was not found. A California Highway Patrol helicopter, H-37, was called in to help deputies search for Bohan but he was not located.

The pickup that Bohan was driving was reported stolen from Santa Rosa, earlier in the evening around 5 p.m., police said.

Then at 11 a.m., today, two witnesses from Fairie Ring Campground spotted the suspect sitting at a bus stop in front of Safeway in Guerneville.

Police arrived at the bus stop and took Bohan into custody. According to police, witnesses positively identified Bohan as the man who threatened them at the campground.

Bohan had facial injuries and was complaining that his right hand was broken. Police believe that Bohan is a suspect in a stabbing that occurred at 2 a.m., this morning.

Bohan also matches the description from the early morning assault that occurred. Further investigation is being done with the victim in that case.

Bohan was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
