Man Found Dead in Overturned Car In Creek Identified

The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified a Santa Rosa man who was found dead Saturday in a vehicle in a creek near Sebastopol as 41-year-old Hoeuth Hin.

California Highway Patrol officers and fire personnel responded at 9:17 a.m. Saturday to Bodega Highway west of Sexton Road and as they responded, the call was updated to a possible fatality, CHP Sgt. Ross Ingels said.

Officers found a 1990 Honda CRX had overturned in Jonive Creek and the driver, identified as Hin, was still in the driver's seat belt, Ingels said.

There were no witnesses to the crash but nearby residents said the crash happened sometime overnight, Ingels said.

The driver was traveling west on Bodega Highway when he lost control of the Honda.

The Honda spun 180 degrees across the westbound lane and slid off of the north side of Bodega Highway, Ingels said.

The Honda overturned on the road and landed in the small creek in approximately two feet of water, according to Ingels.
