Man Killed After Crash Into Power Pole Saturday Night

A Santa Rosa man was killed Saturday in Sonoma County following a single-vehicle crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The identity of the 62-year-old man has not been released. The CHP responded around 6:36 p.m. to the intersection of Arnold Drive and Verano Avenue after a report of a vehicle crashing into a power pole.

Investigators said the driver was unresponsive when emergencies crews arrived. Emergency had to wait for PG&E to arrive at the scene, because power lines and transformer oil were covering the vehicle after the crash, according to the CHP.

After PG&E cleared the power lines, emergency crews determined the driver had died.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Government loves the fact that he died at 62 because they did not have to pay Social Security after collecting it his entire life.
