An earlaly morning confrontation in Healdsburg on Sunday turned into the arrest of a man for several felony charges, the Press Democrat reported this morning.
The incident took place on Mitchell Lane, an oft-used but little-know connectior between the Healdsburg Ave. and the Mitchell Shopping Center on Center. A driver on the road asked a man standing in the middle of it to get out of the way, according to Sgt. Luis Rodrigues of the Healdsburg Police Dept.
The driver told officers that Del Campo had been standing in the middle of Mitchel Lane, which bridges Healdsburg Avenue and Center Street downtown, Rodriguez said. Del Campo did not get out of the way and instead walked up to the open driver’s window, pulled out a knife and threatened the man, who is African-American, with racial epithets, Rodriguez said.
Del Campo, 23, of Healdsburg, was arrested and booked into County Jail on charges including assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon, committing a felony hate crime and violating probation.
