Motorcyclist Injured in Forestville Crash Dies at Hospital

A motorcycle rider who was injured Sunday morning in a collision with a car in Forestville died Tuesday at Stanford Hospital, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Gregory Dahl, 60, was riding a blue 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Mirabel Road when the crash happened around 11:10 a.m., CHP Officer Kerri Post said.

A Ford Taurus driven by Alice Shoffit, 64, of Forestville, was stopped at a stop sign on Giusti Road at Mirabel Road, Post said.
When Shoffit turned left onto Mirabel Road, the Taurus went into the path of the oncoming motorcycle, Post said.

Dahl, who Post said had the right of way, laid the motorcycle down and skidded into the Ford.
The motorcycle caught fire, and Shoffit and a passenger in her car pulled Dahl away from the burning bike, according to Post.
Dahl, who has a post office box in Guerneville, was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital then to the Stanford Hospital, where he later died, Post said.
