Passenger Dies in Todd Road Car Crash Friday Afternoon

Driver was 33-year-old Sebastopol woman.

 

One person died in a collision at 4:35 p.m. Friday on Todd Road just west of Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa, police said.

The identity of the person has not yet been determined, said Officer Marcus Hawkins of the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred when a blue Mazda Miata was traveling eastbound on Todd Road at an unknown speed, Hawkins said.

The driver, Emile Smith, 33, of Sebastopol, allowed the Miata to drift off the south side of the roadway, he said.

The passenger side of the Miata collided into a tree. The passenger in the Miata had to be extricated by fire personnel.

The passenger, whose identity has not yet been determined, received major
injuries as a result of the collision. Smith was also injured during the collision, Hawkins said.
