Police Reports in Healdsburg, April 1-7

Trouble on Canyon Run, solar light theft and a homeless camp in a vacation home rental back yard.

Police Logs, 4/1 – 4/7

The past week saw a number of cases, several of which appear to be related, and what seems like a disproportionate number in the Parkland Farms development. Not all logged cases are reported here.

On Monday the First of April,  1:43 in the afternoon, a woman reported that someone had stolen an orange Ellington leather bag, valued at $230 from her business Virginia Carol on Matheson St. This is her second reported theft in three weeks, and she is concerned about future thefts. She also wanted to state “that a downtown foot patrol officer is greatly missed.”

Early the next morning, at 1:56 a.m. on April 2, Neighbors reported that apartment dwellers at 970 Healdsburg Ave. had been drinking ll evening, and were being loud and arguing. Officers responded, but before the arrived the reporting party called again to say that two of the males were leaving, but she could not see the vehicle they were driving. By the time officers arrived there no vehicles leaving, and all was quite. They contacted the residents of the studio apartment in question and were advised that people were leaving.

At 6:40 that morning, a woman on Canyon Run in Healdsburg called to report that another of her vehicle tires had been slashed. Officer Garcia responded, and “advised the rear passenger tire was low, but [unclear] if it had been punctured.” (Patch is inquiring whether this incident is related to two previous incidents on Canyon Run reported last week.).

At 1:16 pm, April 2, a woman came to the Police Department to report that she visited her vacation rental home on University St. and discovered a homeless camp with tents in her back yrd. Officer Eland responded, and found the camp was vacant. He will return later to check.

A disturbance was reported at 10:41 p.m., with two reports of people yelling at a house on the 100 block of Terrace Blvd. Officers Moore and Benner responded and contacted a resident who said everything was fine, they had just been loud.

A burglary was reported on April 3 at 9:36 a.m., a woman reporting that jewelry was taken from her home on Sherman St. the previous day. Taken were  black pearl pendant and earrings from beneath her bed. She stated her housecleaner and a painter were there and had used the bathroom. Officer Eland responded.

On April 5, at 8:08 a.m., a traffic accident involving  bicycle and a vehicle was reported at Johnson and grant. Officer Garcia responded, the victim was taken to Kaiser Hospital by his wife.

On April 6 at 8:46 a.m., an accident was reported at Healdsburg Family Apartments on Canyon Run, when a single vehicle hit a tree. The car was towed to Canyon Run Apartments, Office Garcia reporting.

At 9:36 that same day, April 6, an officer requested graffiti removal from the sidewalk of University St. north of Sanns Lane. Graffiti was described as “14/88” swastika.  More or another swastika graffiti was reported nearby, at University and Badger. Public Works cleaned up the graffiti.

On April 6 at 12:25, the theft of solar lights was reported from Ethereal Harmony on Canyon Run. Although there were surveillance cameras, the images were hard to make out. St. Castaneda will take the report.

The next day, April 7 at 4:30 p.m., solar lights were also reported stolen at three addresses in the 300 block of Arabian Way. The report was logged as supplemental to the previous report in Parkland Farms.

On April 7 at 1:23 p.m., a resident of Canyon Run reported that her car had been broken into the previous evening and phone chargers and money had been taken. The car was parked on the street. Officer Castaneda responded.

On the same day at 6:10 p.m., Gustavo Gomez Martin, 34, was arrested on an outstanding warrant at Oak Grove Apartments on Grove St. He was arrested on the warrant charges and driving with a suspended license, and transported to County Jail.  Bail was set at $2,500, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

At 12:17 a.m. on Monday, April 8, Officer Rodriguez conducted a traffic stop at Front St. and Hudson St, and two others officers responded as backup. Three people were cited as a result of the stop: Javier Carrillo-Lopez, 20, was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and violation of probation. Alvaro Hurtado-Diaz, 21, was cited for possession of an open container. Brenda Yolanda Silva-Alvarez, 19, was arrested for possession of a controlled of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia She was transported to the Police Department for booking then transported to County Jail.
