Police Reports in Healdsburg Last Week

The Healdsburg Police Department makes public their activity logs on Monday afternoons. This is a selection of arrests and other activity from April 22 through April 29, 2013.

On Monday, April 22, at 11:06 pm, a motorist advised of what appeared to be an argument in front of John and Zeke’s on Plaza St. Officers responded and contacted Stuart Pembroke and Sean Keif, who said it was a verbal argument only and were sent on their way.

At 10:34 the next morning, Tuesday April 23, a coordinator for Project Success reported a rape that occurred to a student at Windsor High in Healdsburg a year earlier. A report was taken.

At 2:10 p.m., a non-injury collision at Lola’s Market on Healdsburg Ave. resulted in property damage only. Officer Eland contacted the drivers, one of whom was found to have an expired driver’s license but had paperwork from the DMV for renewal.

At 8:20 p.m., a man told police at the Circle K on Healdsburg Ave. through a translater that his ex-wife had hit him when he met with her to pick up his son. Officers Shooter, Moore and Brenner took the report, and went to the woman’s apartment. She was arrested for domestic battery and vandalism and transported to County Jail.

AT 8:47 that same evening, a maintenance worker at the Dry Creek Inn reported a man had entered a vacant room through a window; when the worker approached the room, the man – a white male, in his 40s, approx. 5’8”, wearing a blue shirt, white shorts and no shoes, fled towards Grove St. Subject was gone on arrival.

At approximately 11 pm, the same man was again seen by staff at the motel spa. Again officers were called, but the subject was again gone on arrival.

Thursday, April 24, at 3:06 p.m. a hit-and-run accident was reported when the northwest corner pedestrian light at Dry Creek and Grove St. was hit by an unknown vehicle.

At 5:03 p.m., a man came into the Police Department to report his car had been hit while parked in front of his house, possibly on April 18. There was damage to the driver’s side rear tire, rear quarter panel, and the rear tire was punctured. The reporting party was told it would cost $3500 to repar so wanted a report of the accident. But there were no witnesses, and too much time had elapsed, and the car had been driven.

Just after midnight on April 26, Friday, syringes were found in the street at Lupine Rd. and March Ave.

At 4:26 p.m., a man was arrested at Terrace Blvd. on an outstanding warrant from the Sonma County Sheriff’s office. Luke Ohler was transported to county jail.

7:31 p.m. found a reckless driver at College ST. and Sherman driving a white mustang with a black strip too fast and recklessly. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

At 11:25 a.m., April 27, Saturday, a prowler was reported in a man’s back yard. The prowler ran off when confronted; officers responded and contact Shawn Dixon who was identified as the suspect, and transported to County Jail. Two bicycles were found nearby, not sure if they were evidence.

At 4:34 p.m., a back purse with strap was taken out of a woman’s shopping cart at Safeway. Officer Erkel looked at surveillance video but was unable to find any suspect information.

Just after midnight on April 28, Sunday, a disturbance was reported at the B & B Saloon.

At 5:00 am, police were called to Healdsburg District Hospital where Jubal Koss of Cloverdale had been brought in earlier. When he was discharged he refused to leave, and argued with staff who were afraid it was about to escalate. Officers showed up and Koss was sent on his way.

At 9:11 residents on Powell Ave reported their fence had been hit by a hit-and-run driver during the night.

Later that day, a reckless driver was reported at Rotten Robbies on Healdsburg Ave at 9:17 in the morning, driving on the wrong side of the road on Grove St. Sgt. Casteneda and Officer Eland made contact with the driver, who showed symptoms of mental health issues and admitted to a road rage incident on 101 just prior to his arrival in Healdsburg. Sgt. Castaneda told the driver he would be subject to a priority evaluation at the DMV; the driver exhibited anger and self-control issues.

At 5:06 p.m, two Hispanic males were reported rolling marijuana cigareets in a vehicle on Arabian Way. Officers responded and confiscated a small amount of marijuana; the care was left at the scene as neither juvenile had  a valid drivers license.

6:46 p.m., a 911 caller reported their vehicle had been burglarized and cell phones taken.  A GPS alert on the cell phone determined that one of them was in Santa Rosa; the cell pone was located but had been destroyed.

Just after noon on Monday, April 29, a white female in her 40s carrying a green bag left southbound out of the Safeway on Vine St, and was assumed to have taken champagne. Could not be located.

At 2:12 that afternoon, at the Safeway, a tall white male with a green backpack, gray hat and possibly a gray shirt was reported committing petty theft. Safeway did not want to pursue charges, just wanted to make sure the individual does not return to the story.
