Potential Hate Crime Probed in Guerneville

Sonoma County Sheriffs Office investigates.

 

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent
hate crime that took place last week in the town of Guerneville.     

On Thursday, a 49-year-old man contacted the sheriff's office and
said that he had been assaulted when he left a gay bar downtown earlier in the week.

The man said he was assaulted on Third Street by at least one
individual who used anti-gay threats and slurs during the attack, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim suffered cuts and abrasions in the assault, which is
being investigated as a hate crime.
