Reckless Driving Leads to Drug Arrest near Cloverdale

Press report from CHP says Wisconsin driver was en route from Mendocino County to airport with undetermined amount of illegal cannabis.

 

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, California Highway Patrol officers received a citizen’s call of a Nissan Altima speeding and driving recklessly on southbound Hwy. 101, south of Cloverdale.

CHP Officer Alan Zang responded to the area observed the Nissan speeding. The officer contacted the driver, who was identified as Kevin David Breitzman, 28, of Mequon, WI.

The officer noted the odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle once a backup officer arrived.

Officers located 25 to 30 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle. Breitzman stated that he was on his way to the airport from Ukiah.

Breitzman was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on drug trafficking charges.
