Reward Offered for Missing Petaluma Teen

Authorities say she returned to her hotel and was last seen at the hotel/casino bar around 12:30am

Authorities are continuing the search for 19-year-old Alyssa Byrne who disappeared while on a trip to South Lake Tahoe on New Year’s Eve.

On Thursday, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Nevada announced a $1,000 reward to anyone whose tip leads to locating the missing Petaluma teen who had traveled to the resort to attend a music festival.

According to Sgt. Pat Brooks, a spokesman for the agency, Byrne was last seen in the bar of the Horizon Casino and Hotel where she was staying with friends.

“The circumstances to her disappearance are unknown at this time,” Sgt. Brooks said. “Douglas County Search and Rescue has been activated to assist in an area search.”

Byrne is described as 5 foot 3, 125 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black sweatshirt, black yoga type pants and black snow boots.

Byrne, a 2011 Casa Grande graduate, was attending Snow Globe, a three-day music festival in South Lake Tahoe that draws up to 40,000 people.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call Secret Witness at: 775-78-CRIME (775-782-7463); or DCSO Investigations Division at: 775-782-9905.

What can we do? Remember Polly! Remember Georgia! Alyssa is one of ours. What can we do to help find her?

Repost her photo - @Peter. Also, please tell young people not to go to bars, and certainly not alone. Hoping for the best.
