Six area roads closed due to flooding

CHP issues list of closed roads.

California Highway Patrol issued a new alert Friday for six  Sonoma County roadways.

CHP said the following roads are  closed due to flooding or slides:

--Wholer Rd N/of River,  flooded;
--Valley Ford Rd Btw Gericke and SR-1, flooded;
--Old River Rd at SR-116,  mud slide;
--Sanford Rd at Occidental Rd., flooded;
--Mark West Station at Starr, flooded;
--Todd Rd at Walker, flooded.

With the saturated ground and full creeks and rivers any amount of rain can cause a roadway to become flooded, the CHP alert said.

According to CHP spokesman Jonathan Sloat, all drivers should be reminded that it is unsafe to travel through flooded roadways.
