'Suspicious' Fire Thursday in Healdsburg Home

Explosion in kitchen seen as origin, firefighters said.


A fire that was caused by a "suspicious explosion" in a Healdsburg home this afternoon was controlled within a couple hours, a Sonoma County Fire Department dispatcher said.

The fire at 957 Dry Creek Road started in the kitchen. It was reported around 1:30 p.m., the dispatcher said.

The origin of the fire is unknown, and no one was home at the time.
