Teen Girl Missing From Santa Rosa Since Friday Found Safe

A Santa Rosa girl who was reported missing last weekend has been found safe and is back with her family, police said today.

Elysa Muniz, 17, was last seen around 8 p.m. Friday in her family's Fenwick Drive home.

She communicated via text message with a friend around midnight that day, and her parents discovered she was missing around 9 a.m. Saturday, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Terry Anderson said.

The family tried to find her Saturday and reported the incident to police at 2 p.m. Sunday, Anderson said.

Muniz left her cellphone and wallet with identification and money at home, police said.
