Tree down at Healdsburg Junior High

Power restored after outage when tree falls shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday.

Repair crews were on the scene this morning at to clear the road of a massive tree that came down shortly after 5 a.m. from the powerful storm that roared through the area overnight.

It was not immediately known the type of tree that fell, although the scent of cedar was apparent in the vicinity of the school at Grant and Fitch streets in Healdsburg.

"Thankfully no one was hurt," a staff person said. A massive gaping hole was left Sunday where the tree had been growing, at the corner lawn, just behind the Healdsburg Junior High sign.
