Two Injured in Gang-Related Stabbing at Healdsburg High School Tuesday NIght

Preliminary reports tell of assault at tennis courts by two unknown males who were reportedly "yelling phrases that represented gang affiliation."

Tuesday evening at approximately 8:20, according to a preliminary report from the Healdsburg Police Department, two men who had been playing soccer inside the tennis courts on the Healdsburg High School campus were assaulted and stabbed by suspected gang-affiliated unknown males.

The Police Officers responded to the Healdsburg District Hospital, following the report of two men that had been stabbed, at about 9:10 p.m. 

Officers learned that as the victims were getting ready to leave the courts, located just inside the campus off Monte Vista, they were ambushed from behind by two unknown males.

According to a witness, the suspects were yelling phrases that represent gang affiliation during the attack.

The suspects ran eastbound on Monte Vista Ave. towards University St., then in an unknown direction after the assault.

The victims, one of whom was stabbed twice, and the other three times, were in stable condition and were being treated at the Hospital for their injuries. According to the Police dispatcher, they are both 25 years old, and both from Healdsburg.

Healdsburg Police had not been notified of the assault until the victims were admitted to the Hospital.

Officers recovered a knife and a rock at the crime scene that they believe were used in the assault.

No suspects are in custody at the time of this report. Healdsburg Police is still investigation the incident.

According to this week's police logs, several incidents of gang-related graffiti appeared on May 5, at several places along Lupine Rd., west of the campus.
