Healdsburg citizens, public safety personnel and their families are invited to attend the at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Healdsburg Plaza.
The memorial, which includes a section of steel salvaged from the wreckage of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in New York City, was approved for installation at the Plaza and the
"Public safety personnel are encouraged to attend in uniform," said Ret. Healdsburg Fire Engineer Ben Gilliam, project organizer. The memorial honors the police and firefighters who died while trying to save others in 9/11 as well as the civilians who lost their lives.
