A woman suspected of assaulting a roommate with a baseball bat at a marijuana grow house in Inverness Park was arrested late Monday night in
Guerneville, a Marin County sheriff's lieutenant said.

Kelsey Lin Winterkorn, 26, was detained by a Sonoma County sheriff's deputy who found her in a parked van at Neeley Road and state Highway 116 around 10:40 p.m., Lt. Jamie Scardina said.

Marin County sheriff's deputies then traveled to Guerneville and arrested Winterkorn on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked into the Marin County Jail at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Winterkorn allegedly hit one of her male roommates with a baseball bat while he was sleeping at their home at 11 Redwood Ave. in Inverness Park around 7:30 a.m. Monday, Scardina said.

The wounded man escaped with the help of another male roommate who
started driving him to a hospital, sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman said.

On their way to the hospital, Winterkorn allegedly began chasing them in her orange van nicknamed the "Biohazard Battlecruiser," then rammed the victims' car twice and fled, Pittman said.

Winterkorn had tried to repaint the orange van by hand after the incident, Scardina said.

She also had orange-and-white hair at the time of the assault, but may have changed her hair color; the jail booking log lists it as brown.

The wounded man was treated at Marin General Hospital and released, Scardina said.

Deputies found at least 700 marijuana plants inside the home where the assault occurred, Scardina said. The Marin County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the marijuana grow.
