UPDATE: W. Grant Street Closure in Healdsburg Starts Monday

Closure is at the railroad crossing and will last at least a week.

Story updated Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.

Starting Monday, Jan. 14, through Friday Jan. 18, West Grant Street will be closed at the railroad crossing.

The closure is on Grant west of Healdsburg Avenue at the railroad crossing just west of the Healdsburg Fire Station.

Depending on weather conditions, the street closure may need to be extended into the following week.

Pedestrian access and access to all Grant Street properties will be open at all times, subject to periodic delays.  Motorists are requested to use alternate routes.

The construction is the final phase of the $896,000 Safe Routes to School grant the city was awarded.

The work is to replace the railroad crossing, install medians in the street in anticipation of a quiet zone designation, install railroad signal improvements and complete the concrete sidewalk improvements at the widened Foss Creek bridge.

This project is a joint effort between the City of Healdsburg, Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (“SMART”) and the North Coast Railroad Authority (“NCRA”).
Please contact the City’s Project Engineer, Scott Carter, at (707) 431-3346 with any questions.
