UPDATE: Growth Management Ballot Measure Language OK'd

Proposal now goes to Healdsburg planning staff for administrative sections.

Healdsburg City Council unanimously approved language Monday for a potential ballot measure to ease growth limits in the city and allow for more flexibility.

The measure, which now goes back to city staff for the administrative portion of the proposal, is an amendment to Healdsburg's original growth management ordinance, passed almost a dozen years ago -- then called Measure M.

City officials said the ballot measure could come before voters in 2014.

Healdsburg leaders spent a good portion of last year working on possible adjustments to the city's growth management ordinance.

Now, with the New Year, they could be ready to ask voters for their blessing on the amendments.

According to the Press Democrat, the proposed ballot measure languard is ready for approval at Monday night's City Council meeting.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. at Healdsburg City Hall.
