Healdsburg Candidates Await Results at Parties, at Home

Some City Council candidates at restaurants, others by the phone.

 

Healdsburg City Council candidates said they will await results of today's elections at various venues throughout the city.

Six candidates -- two incumbents and four newcomers -- are running for three open seats on the city panel.

who is seeking re-election, said he will be holding court after 8 p.m., when the polls close, at Agave Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar in the Vineyard Plaza shopping center.

Plass said he will be joined by Lisa Wittke Schaffner, one of three candidates for the North County seat on Sonoma County Board of Education. Two other candidates for county school board are Ron McEwan and Cheryl Scholar.

Across town, City Councilman Tom Chambers and candidate Shaun McCaffery will share a election results watch roost after 8 p.m. at Costeaux French Bakery.

The remaining three candidates -- Vernon Simmons and Dennis Brown -- said they would be awaiting the results at home with their friends and families.
