iGrow Community Garden Seeks Volunteers

Healdsburg residents are invited to join with in participating in the Sonoma County’s Third Annual 350 Home & Garden Challenge on Saturday, May 12.

The 350 Garden Challenge encourages individuals and organizations to take an action to grow food, save water, conserve energy and to build community the weekend of May 12 & 13.

The county’s goal this year is 2,102 actions which might include starting a worm bin, converting a lawn, creating an herb garden, hanging a clothesline and more. 

The Healdsburg Community Center 350 project is to expand our iGrow Garden to include a “Tomato Patch for the Pantry” to benefit the

Volunteers are needed for this community-based gardening project which will prepare and plant the tomato patch.  The fresh, organic tomatoes will be delivered to the Food Pantry during the growing season with the last harvest reserved for a canning project spearheaded by the organization. The canned tomatoes will also go the Pantry.

Volunteers are needed to help make the “Patch” a reality.  The workday will be Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers can commit to the entire workday or for just the time that works for them.
