Medical Emergency Delays BART Trains

By Bay City News

BART trains were delayed system-wide Thursday morning because of a medical emergency at the West Oakland station, a BART employee said.

An elderly woman fell while aboard a train at the station around 10:50 a.m., the employee said.

She was helped off the train by medical personnel around 11:05 a.m., but riders were advised to expect delays of up to 30 minutes, according to the employee.

Service was expected to be back on time by around noon, he said.
