Monday's City Council Agenda for April 15, 2013
Expect discussion of naming an Events Subcommittee to the Parks and Recreation Commission to evaluate the increasing number of events planned for downtown Healdsburg
The regular bi-weekly session of the Healdsburg City Council is scheduled for Monday night at 6:00 p.m. in City Council chambers at City Hall.
On the usually non-controversial consent calendar are alcohol permits for three summer events on the calendar: the Annual Beer in the Plaza Festival on September 7; at the sixth annual Healdsburg Half Marathon on October 20, in the city parking lot off of Grove Street; and in Recreation Park at the Livestock Buyers’ Dinner on May 25, as requested by the Healdsburg Future Farmers Country Fair Board.

Later in the meeting, however, one of the items of new business has a bearing on these request for alcohol permits - in fact, on the large number of events being held in Healdsburg altogether.
Assistant City Manager David Mickaelian will request the City Council create an Event Subcommittee of the Parks and Recreation Commission to evaluate the impact, planning, coordination and alcohol permitting process of special events in the downtown area.

Among the other items on the consent calendar is the lateral sewer ordinance that was sent back for revision on its first appearance, in March of this year.
The revised ordinance reaffirms the long-standing city police of requiring the city to assume responsibility for the lateral from the property line to the main sewer, provided there is an accessible clean-out at the property line. If there is no such clean-out, the entire length of the lateral is the property owner’s responsibility.
