New Director of Animal Services Hired at Healdsburg Animal Shelter

HAS board to give update on shelter at Monday's Healdsburg City Council meeting.

Judi Adams, a former director for the SPCA in Monterey County, has been hired as animal services director for the Healdsburg Animal Shelter.

Adams, who started work Nov. 1, is expected to be introduced to the community at Monday's Healdsburg City Council meeting. The meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., is at Healdsburg City Hall.

Adams' introduction will be part of an update to City Council by HAS Board Co-chairman Bill Anderson on the activities at the shelter and progress in mitigating the effects of construction defects on the beleaguered new shelter building.

The shelter has filed a lawsuit against contractors for the new building, which sits unoccupied across Westside Road from the original shelter.
