POLL: Which Way Do You Want Foss Creek Circle To Go?

Road to become one-way.

Now that some people say they don't agree with the direction of the one-way.

Healdsburg's resolution approved Monday night calls for the one-way to travel clockwise around the loop, entering from the south intersection of Foss Creek Circle and Grove Street, and exiting from the north intersection of the two streets.

say that the clockwise direction will force too many left turns into businesses along the road.

Others say it just feels counter-intuitive to go clockwise and that it feels more natural to enter from the north and exit on the south end.

What do you think?

Since a lot of the traffic on the circle is either people entering Park Point or going to the post office, if you enter the circle at the south end, it would mean making an 90 degree turn into the post office driveway to drop off mail. I don't thing the USPS wants to go to the expense of moving the drop boxes to the other side since people would be entering the driveway from the south.

The post office drive-thru is North to South, so counter-clockwise would make sense.

What is the justification for choosing clockwise? It seems illogical for the post office, the commercial units north of the post office and for the residences. What is the justification for making it a one way street at all? It makes leaving home for the residences to have to go all around the circle even if they plan to travel north on Grove St. or to go east on Grant St.

Very counter-intuitive. We all go to the Post Office and making us turn left into the drive through is making the entire situation more dangerous. Who thought up this? What a waste of time.

Keri, will you share the results of this poll w/ the city council? I'm guessing there's some leeway in directionality (pun intended)

Absolutely! Waiting to gather poll results.....

I think using clockwise and counter clockwise is confusing and will probably skew the poll results. I don't think residents should have to make a left turn across traffic to reach the post office mail drop off lane. Charlene Luks

It is backwards, as proposed...makes no sense, at all.

It makes no difference, whatsoever. If it's clockwise, mail drops would actually be easier. They just need to turn the mailboxes around to face the street. Left turns from a one way street are much safer as they do not cross oncoming traffic. Leave it to the professionals. I applaud their sensibility.
