Street Repair Trumps Public Safety in Measure V Survey Results

Healdsburg City Council to meet in Special Session Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Throughout the month of April, Healdsburg residents had the opportunity to vote in a special Measure V Survey, to determine public opinion on how extra tax revenues would be used.

The Healdsburg City Council meets in special session Wednesday to hear  the summary of those survey results, and possibly to give direction on the allocation of Measure V funds in the budget. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 401 Grove St.

Simply put, by a wide margin survey respondents favored Street Maintenance and Repair (44.33%) over any other category, followed by Deferred Maintenance of City Facilities (15.08%).  Public Safety tied with  Economic Development for third (11.31%).

Percentages reflect a points system based on percent of responses against number of time the response was included.  There were 428 responses.

In last place was Community Grant Fund, with only 1.44% mention. It finished behind Other (3.47%) and  General Fund (6.54%)

The Summary is available as a PDF off the City of Healdsburg’s website. The full PDF includes voter comments on each of the questions in the five-part survey.
