Thompson on 9/11: 'Difficult To Find the Right Words'

U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson, who represents Healdsburg in Congress, on Friday issued a statement regarding the 10th  Anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

is a senior member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

“Even with the passage of a decade, it is difficult to find the right words to capture the collective sense of outrage, sorrow and loss of innocence that our nation suffered as a result of the tragic attacks against our nation on Sept. 11, 2001," Thompson said in a news release.

we honor the nearly 3,000 innocent people who lost their lives and their families," he added.  "We also give our deep thanks to the who each day perform their sworn duty to keep us safe and to recognize the sacrifices they and their families have made."

“Since these attacks, we have witnessed countless acts of service and tributes on behalf of those who lost their lives on this tragic day," he said. "These selfless acts help our nation continue to heal as we work to build a better world for future generations.”

Healdsburg residents are invited to attend a Saturday in honor of the 10th Anniversary of Sept. 11.

Saturday's event, from 8 a.m. to noon, will be at Foothill Regional Park , 1351 Arata Lane, Windsor.
