Would You Like to Help Out Your Town, Healdsburgians?

Healdsburg has openings on three volunteer commissions.

Do you think you might be interested in serving the community and participating in the workings of Healdsburg city operations?

If so, there are opportunities now to serve on various Healdsburg volunteer commissions.

Here's a list of some of the possibilities:

--Starting Jan. 1, there will be two vacancies on the Healdsburg Parks and Recreation Commission. Commissioners are required to attend one meeting per month, to disclose economic interest as required by the Local Conflict of Interest Code and to complete an ethics training.

--There is currently one vacancy on the Healdsburg Senior Citizens Advisory Commission. Members of the commission are required to attend one meeting every other month, live within city limits, and be 55 or older.

--Four positions are open on the Healdsburg Transportation Advisory Commission. One commissioner may live outside of city limits but must still be within the Healdsburg Unified School District Boundaries. Commissioners are required to attend quarterly meetings, disclose economic interests and take an ethics training.

The deadline for applications was last Friday, Dec. 7, but city offices were closed on that day. Please call 707-431-3323 to see if the deadline has been extended.
