GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Host Families Needed- Open your home to an international high school student this summer and bring a unique cultural experience to your family! Host families provide room, board and a loving environment for 26 days. Students from Italy, Spain, Norway and Sweden will be in Healdsburg from June 26th-July 22nd. GRADUATION CELEBRATION - Senior Parents, please turn in your student's registration form for the Graduation Celebration at the student store. Scholarships are available. An awesome event is in the works! Underclass Parents: The next planning meeting is March 5 at 7:00 in room 44. We would love for you to join us!

Senior Graduation Announcements- Parents of Seniors should have received a notice from Josten's with information and Order Form for Graduation Announcements. For those that still need to order , the deadline is April 1, and information can be found at: www.northcoastgrad.com. Counseling Corner- If you want to continue to be excited and see where our seniors may go to college, please read this week's newsletter. Also listed are a number of options for GAP years, SRJC news updates and the benefits of a vocational education. Please go to the counseling web page on the HHS website and click on guidance newsletters. You may see your son or daughter's name in print.

The next two Career Panels will be Sales & Marketing and Public Safety. Both are sure to be excellent, so sign up early to reserve your space. SIGN UP SHEETS WILL BE ON THE BULLETIN BOARD IN COUNSELING.

Seniors - The following scholarships have deadlines coming up in the next ten days: HUSD Common Application, Ella Memorial, Starving Students, Vineyard Plaza, MLK Jr., PG&E Bright Minds, Buick Achievers, Order of the Sons of Italy, and AIA Redwood Empire. Scholarship Sonoma County online applications must be completed by 3/2.There are new scholarships arriving daily. If you're a golfer, a female interested in engineering, an ag/4H person, someone interested in an architecture-related field, or someone with a parent or grandparent who served during the Vietnam War, check out the boxes outside the Career Center.

Students - did you know there's a bulletin board in the counseling area with job listings, internships, and community service opportunities? Right now we have a job listing for a helper at a local automotive center. Keep checking if you're looking for spring and summer positions.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS (a sample of the announcements made at the High School)

The Bookmobile is visiting HHS during lunch on Feb. 19. You, the wonderful students of HHS, helped to donate over 5000 books in November. Now is your chance to find the book of your dreams. Visit the Bookmobile and walk away with a book of your choice.

Battle of the Bands Grand Finale March 1st in the Black Box. 8 acts. Tickets on sale now for only $3 in the student store. Hurry before they are gone.

The Courtesy Dance is Friday, February 22nd. Tickets are now on sale in the Student Store.

The library will be closed during the school day next Tuesday, February 19, but will be open after school at 3:15.

Ever considered learning a new language? Join us for an initial meeting of an American Sign Language student group. Not only will this be a fun and interactive gathering, but participation looks great on resumes and college applications. Thursday, February 21st at lunch in the Career Center. Pizza will be served.
