Healdsburg High Senior Gets UK Study Abroad

Amber Lowers to spend four months in Great Britain.

senior Amber Lowers is set to travel to Great Britain where she will spend four months in a study-abroad program.

Amber, with the help of a scholarship through the Albertina Zanzi Living Trust and Linda Lotspeich -- trustee of her aunt’s estate -- will spend the fall semester living in the West Midlands with a British couple and their 13-year-old daughter.

She was awarded the generous Albertina Zanzi Study Abroad Scholarship in May of this year. The scholarship is offered through the with coordination from the HHS Career Center’s Laurie Nimmo.

Through the Study Abroad UK program, Amber will be a student at Aldridge School: A Science College as a sixth-form student, which is roughly equivalent to our last year of high school here in the U.S.

In her spare time, Amber, who said she has always dreamed of visiting the UK, said will be doing as much sightseeing and traveling there as she can.
