Healdsburg on Bikes Day Thursday

Show support for the High School's mountain bike team by riding, shopping, dining and checking out the movie "Singletrack High" at the Raven

Backers of the Healdsburg High School Mountain Bike Team got the city to declare April 25 as Healdsburg on Bikes Day, and now it's up to the residents to put the pedal to the metal and make it all work.

Highlight of the day is screening of the new documentary Singletrack High, Thursday, 7 p.m. at the Raven Film Center. Tickets are $15, available online and at the door only if available.

The film follows six student athletes through the 2012 season in the NorCal High School Cycling League, documenting the positive impacts of keeping kids on bikes at the age when many trade in two wheels for four.

Thursday's screening at the Raven will be a great way for Healdsburg residents to see what the HHS Mountain Bike team is all about. But there are several other events in town to celebrate Healdsburg on Bikes Day.
