John Holt joins Healdsburg Education Foundation board

Former Bank of America executive has been active in Healdsburg cultural projects since the 1980s.

 John Holt, an activist for Healdsburg cultural projects since the early 1980s, has been elected to the Board of Directors.

A long-time Bank of America executive, Holt and his family moved to Healdsburg in 1982, according to a news release Tuesday from Pamela Swan, Healdsburg Education Foundation director.

Swan said Holt was instrumental in the rebuilding and development of the and the helping to create the in 1999.

"He worked with Merritt Sher to develop the West Plaza space for the and, more recently, and served on the Healdsburg Design Review commission for four year, Swan said.

According to the news release, Holt worked with the o help create the Business Action Council of Healdsburg (BACH).

Holt was also a member of the for 25 years and is a past president.

"He is currently a charter member of the Sunrise Rotary of Healdsburg," Swan said "He is an avid supporter of local arts and music through the and the ."

The Healdsburg Education Foundation raises funds to promote excellence and opportunities for all students attending the Healdsburg public schools.
