Bulldogs and Knights Clash at Rec Park

The Healdsburg Bulldogs faced off against the Windsor Knights Saturday in North Bay Youth Football action

Saturday's rivalry match-up between the Healdsburg Bulldogs and the Windsor Knights provided for exciting football at Healdsburg's .  The teams split the games with each winning two and tying the fifth.  

The day started-out rough for the hometown Bulldogs, losing the Might Mites game 0-31 and the Jr Pee Wee game 0-29.  The third match-up proved be the most exciting game of the day.

With the Healdsburg Pee Wee squad leading by 6 with 3 minutes left, the Knights tied the game, leading to double overtime and a final score of 19-19.  This game marked the first time in seven years that the Bulldog Pee Wee squad hasn't lost to the Knights.

The tide continued to turn in favor of thewith the Jr. Midget match-up.  While the Knights kept the game close during the first quarter, the took control in the second quarter and never looked back.  Anthony Rea and Daniel Pardo both scored touchdowns for the Bulldogs.  The final score was 20-6 Bulldogs.

The final match-up of the day had the Midget squads facing off early in the evening and finishing under the stadium lights.  The offensive squads for both teams played well, but it was the defensive units that dominated. Both team's defenses held at the goal-line, denying the offenses the opportunity to score.

The Bulldogs took the lead with a long pass by quarterback Angel Alfaro to receiver Maxwell Williams in the first half.  While they failed to convert the extra point, the six point lead proved to be enough to win game with a final score of 6-0.

The Bulldog's travel to San Marin for next Sunday's games.
