Scrappy Bulldogs Chase Visiting Stallions

2011 Healdsburg Bulldog football season starts with losses to Santa Rosa

The 2011 youth football season started with lots of fun, tough play but disappointing losses for the  youth teams.  The visiting Santa Rosa Stallions, one of the toughest programs around, dominated the Bulldogs in all five age divisions at Healdsburg's on Sunday.

Strong playing by the Stallions, combined with misses and penalties by the Bulldogs, resulted in Healdsburg struggling to be competitive in most of the games.

"This was a tough day for our teams, but our players had a great time," said Maria Chesmore, president of the Healdsburg Bulldogs board.  "They played till the very end!"
