Will the SF Giants Play in the MLB World Series?

After rallying from 0-2 in the series against the Cincinnati Reds, the San Francisco Giants will move on to play the St. Louis Cardinals for the National League pennant today.

The San Francisco Giants made history Thursday afternoon, becoming the first team in the National League to win a series after being down 0-2 and clinching the National League Division Series.

In the fifth inning against the Cincinnati Reds, the bases were loaded, a perfect set-up for Buster Posey to smack a Grand Slam. The Giants kept the lead and went on to win 6-4, advancing to the National League championship series.

The two teams met six times this season and each won three games a piece. The giants won the world series in 2010 and the Cardinals won the following year in 2011.
