A night of soulful and sexy Latin music had the Plaza crowd on its feet for the concert series.

Latin Indie band Los Pingous offered up wonderful salsas, sambas, rhumbas and even a reggae-type song or two. At one point, they lapsed into a cover of the BeeGees' "Staying Alive" -- all the while keeping the Latin beat.

It was fabulous -- not only for the music but for the sense of community the event generates, said the night's concert sponsor

"We have people come from all different states to visit us and we take them to the Tuesday night concerts and they are blown away," Groom said.

"There's nothing in the world like this," Groom said. "To have the whole town come out and there's no misbehaving and everyone has a good time."

Groom, maker of the famous who took a tasting of the wine, named after son Colby Groom, 14, who first had the idea for the wine two years ago.

At the suggestion of Colby, who endured several major heart operations as a child, more than $200,000 in proceeds raised in the past year from the sale of Colby Red have gone to help agencies that support heart health and heart research, Darryl Groom said.

"Our goal is to raise $1 million a year," he said.

Colby's story and the creation of Colby Red were covered on A year later, Groom said, the show's hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb mentioned the wine on three separate occasions and sales spiked exponentially.

In Healdsburg, Colby Red is available at 39 North Street, and

It is also available at Walgreens pharmacies.
