The Irish Invade the Plaza Tuesday Evening

This week's installment of the Tuesday In The Plaza featured the traditional Irish sounds of The Gas Men

Irish eyes were smiling at the Healdsburg Plaza Tuesday evening as The Gas Men treated a packed house to traditional Irish music.

One of the Bay Area's premier Irish bands, The Gas Men played mix of jigs, reels and barn music as visitors to the Plaza mostly sat and enjoyed the balmy evening.  While a handful got up and danced, most were happy to relax and enjoy the show.

Plaza regular Carl Finwall stated that “it’s nice for a change to be able to sit and have a discussion while enjoying the music.”

Fronted by John Caulfield on violin, mandolin and vocals, it was a reduced version of the band which included Kyle Alden, guitar, Kenny Somerville, banjo and Marla Fibish sitting in on mandolin.

The Gas Men were the fourth act in the annual summer music event in Healdsburg.  The concert series continues June 26 with the classic Big Band sound of Swing Fever.
