UPDATE: Healdsburg Happenings, Jan. 7-8

Not much going on, but that shouldn't stop you from doing it!

If you were worn out by last weekend’s events, you’re not the only one. Things are pretty slow here in the ‘Burg this weekend, but will pick up soon. Even the Super Bowl-bound (knock on wood) San Francisco 49ers have a bye.

Starting Jan 5: horseback riding camp will be held for the next two weeks. Camp topics will include horsemanship, western & English disciplines, bareback riding, games and contests and more in 5-hour sessions. Cost is $40 / day for ages 5 and up; call to reserve 478-5110.

Saturday, Jan 7: Escape the cold weather and warm up by the rustic fireplace at VML Winery, named for winemaker Virginia Marie Lambrix. Enjoy the live music of Brian Bergeron with a glass of newly released 2010 Single Vineyard Boudreaux Pinot Noir. We will be barbecuing tender tri-tip and sausage, included in the tasting. 1 – 5 pm at 4035 Westside Road, formerly ; call 431-4404 to register.

Also Saturday, MythBusters stars Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage show up at the Wells Fargo Center for Arts for an evening of “on-stage experiments, audience participation, rocking video and behind-the-scenes stories.” This live stage show takes up where the Emmy-nominated TV show turns off. Tickets start at $45; details here.
