During the most moving part of the 24-hour event, Boaz talks of Shannon.  Shannon Boaz passed away in 2009, the day before her 39th birthday.

She left behind her husband, Jason Boaz and two young sons, Jackson and Austin.  Her fight against leukemia lasted 17 months.
