Dry Creek Fire Dept. to Celebrate One Year with Open House at New Station

The department opened last year.

A year after opening in a trailer, the Dry Creek Fire Department has a permanent station, more staff and more equipment.

It will celebrate the anniversary with an open house and luncheon Tuesday.

The department, which is a cooperative effort between the Dry Creek Rancheria, the Geyserville Fire District and River Rock Casino, originally used a single engine of its own and a borrowed engine from Geyserville. Now it has two new trucks and a new chief, Healdsburg resident Craig Lowe.

More details about the open house and luncheon are expected later Monday; the event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at 2970 Hwy. 128 E. in Geyserville.

Here are directions, from a flier for the event: "Turn uphill at 3152 Hwy. 128 E, the Red Barn, and continue on the new road approximately ¼-mile to the station."
