Here's what a representative of Woodenhead Winery had to say about the first event:

"Chef Charlie Palmer, Chef Dustin Valette and Dry Creek Kitchen announce a one-of-a-kind dinner series showcasing the rich culinary and wine heritage of the region. Introducing Winemaker’s Kitchen Table at Dry Creek Kitchen, a monthly community supper hosted by top vintners serving their prized wines and personal family recipes.

"First in our series is Nikolai Stez, Woodenhead Winery's winemaker and proprietor, who has been at fermentation since he was a boy making the traditional Russian drink “kvas” (a fermented bread or fruit drink) that his immigrant parents taught him to make.  After studying under Williams-Selyem founding winemaker, Burt Williams, Stez is now known as one of the Russian River Valley’s best winemakers.  Stez continues to pay homage to his Russian roots while combining them on the table with the local bounty of Northern California.  Enjoy a truly unique dinner experience showcasing award-winning Woodenhead wines paired with a meal composed of Stez family recipes."
