The current Healdsburg Post Office is actually the former post office carrier annex. It was converted into the main post office after a fire of unknown origin burned down the old historic main Healdsburg Post Office at 404 Center St. on Aug. 14, 2010. Many townsfolk wanted the old post office rebuilt because it was a favored gathering place, just off the main Healdsburg Plaza, but the U.S. Postal Service decided to convert the more modern annex to the main post office instead. Healdsburg residents and officials are still debating the issue
