Applauding a criminal making money in the drug and money laundering trade illegally and nowRead More legally...classic American hypocrisy.
Nunn's central piece is Arc of the Atlas, a 10-foot tall stack of paper carved into a spinal form capped at either end with cast bronze representing the atlas (first vertebrae) and the sacrum at the base.

I thought the shelter shipped the animals to the Santa Rosa "shelters." - - - so, is thisRead More related to having an Animal Control officer and such? I just don't get what the money is going towards. The article is totally incomplete.

It was my 8th KW. Good story, but some minor inaccuracies. It was John Prine's first appearance atRead More the Fest and I believe also it was Iris Dement's. What was significant is the size of the crowd which I would estimate at a quarter to a third more than last year and the infrastructure has not kept up with the growing crowds. They need to either install more plumbing, showers, etc., or limit the number of tickets sold. Also, interestingly there was a huge amount of pot consumed as compared to previous KW's. At first I thought this was a sign of the recession being over, but in fact it was likely a reflection on the growing significance of the Emerald Triangle as the capitol of American pot production which is a good thing for the youth who have been especially battered by this lousy economy. The heat topped my thermometer at 102 degrees, making it a bit of an ordeal, but there is still nothing anywhere on the planet as kool as the Kate Wolf Festival.

Congrats Tyler!! I'll never forget the day I applied for a job where you were working inRead More operations and the look of shock on your face when you learned I had transitioned from female to male; I categorize my transition as a gender correction. It's great to see your movie project coming to fruition and to hear you and Keri took the plunge into marriage. Prejudice and bigotry remain an unfortunate manifestation of narrow mindedness and fear based belief systems; I believe that guys life you and me, along with our wives are an incredible force of positive change. In terms of privilege - it is rampant in our world and in our local communities here in Sonoma County – white privilege, male privilege and especially white male privilege. There are also downsides that I never saw coming: being rejected by many members of the gay and lesbian community and the most painful of all, for me personally, is related to men and children. Often, especially in public venues such as grocery stores and shopping malls, I am painfully aware that women are more protective of their children in my presence simply because I am male and smiled at their child in a completely benign friendly manner. Sadly, at least statistically speaking, I understand the necessity of this protective behavior. There are far too many issues to address in one article AND it’s great to see the conversation opened yet again!!! Be well brother!! Rafe
