I've enjoyed decorating cakes and cupcakes since I was 5 or 6 years old. My grandmother taught me to cook and bake.  I started out making cakes for my brothers and my sister. Then I made them for my 3 children.  Now that they're grown, I make them for friends and people at work.  I learned the Wilton Cake Decorating method to improve my cake decorating skills.  It's been a nice little side business for me that I really enjoy.  If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.
