HUSD Hires Bond Architect, Counsel

Bond extension measure targeted for June ballot.

 

Healdsburg Unified School District board members agreed unanimously this month to move ahead with plans for a capital construction on the June ballot.

Board members voted Jan. 18 to hire bond architects Quattrocchi Kwok of Santa Rosa and bond counsel Stradling Yocca Carlson and Rauth, which has offices throughout California.

HUSD Superintendent Jeff Harding said

If approved by voters in June, the bond extension measure would generate about $28 million, according to bond advisor Greg Isom, of Isom Advisors in Walnut Creek, who spoke to the board last year.

Isom told the board that if voters approved a 15-year extension on the existing Healdsburg school bond, the property tax rate of $47 per $100,000 of assessed valuation would stay the same, while generating $28 million in revenue.

Harding said a state matching grant for capital construction might also be available if the bond measure is approved.
